Famine Camp 2008 was sucha blast!
for one this is the first CIP camp i attended!
(ie. if u do not count environmental CIP/camp)
our group had like maybe 6 j2s,
kristy, melvin and i!
unfortunately, jenni signed up later than us so she was in a different grp
so she n i took turns sitting with each other grps when we were at the lecture theatre.
WHICH IS SO DAMN NICE.
unlike all of the lecture theatres in ACJC.
the seat is so comfy like SCGS! better than movie seats! :D
so anyway. went back to our old sc hangout.
waffle town.
saw tansy darling junior,
she was having breakfast with her dad i guess.
grew taller, skinnier, chubbier (face),
and she told me she quit band and stuff :(
(apparently i heard band wasnt absolutely wonderful after since mr yap left)
we were given a nice booklet!
and 2 "have a heart, save a child" shirts (1 black 1 white)
and this was roughly our programme for the next 2 days
After lunch, went back to ACS Barker concert hall for opening ceremony
started off with speeches (typical) & guest speech by a cambodian woman
with a super sad life story
"at 13 years old, her dad died, mum abandoned her when she remarried,
she got tricked into a brothel, was forced to have sex with up to 10 different men a day (ouch)
and more than 20 times on weekends...
2 years later at the age of 15, she was horrified to find out that she was HIV +ve...
so when she was at the hospital for checkup,
she was smart enough to make a sweet escape...
throughout this period, she suffered horrible discrimination
(cos pple din know the facts of HIV, and thought that it was contagious by physical contact)
but soon after a world vision worker found her...
and her life finally took a turn for the better.."

then it has this advert cum game,
then u have to shake it. then the picture of clothe women
will change to one with women in bikinis.
and every level it gets more and more sexy! HAHAHA
Shuyi and Serene are damn good bridge players!
o did i mention
THIS WAS MY FIRST TIME LEARNING
TO PLAY BRIDGE & TAIDI!
quite cool right. yes yes. jiahui was never born to be a gambler.
even though jenni and i owned some taidi games. HOHO
and like roughly estimating ah. the 2nd day we played like 4hours of card game.
night before 1 hours.
so its like 5 hours playing card games.

so basically the first day was of cos to make friends!
and what better to play a game!
but all of us including our camp facilitator leeann agrees that the games abit screwed up.
ok firstly its a game that simulates 3rd world countries.
so basically we have 2 sections: market place and 5 basic task.
each team would send 5 people, one each to 1 basic task.
the rest help out at market place, and gain level by winning the game goal or smth like that.
so basically the basic task pple have to redo and redo their task until
pple from market place gain a level and rescue them, and make their basic task easier
this was our game board
i volunteered! to do one basic task.

o quite fun u think. but again and again for up to 0.5-1h++.
not cool. not cool. & this was one of the better basic task,
made a new friend, B__(im damn bad at names)
but i rmb stuff. like shes in ngee ann poly, biomedical science course.

shes in lifeguard and stuff okay!
and at one point, she got so overwhelmed she broke down into tears.

we had this other basic task, HEALTHCARE
whereby every 10 minutes u have to grab a partner and piggyback him/her for a distance.
if u fail to report every 10 minutes, get demerit points.
3 demerit points = downgrade by one level.
level 1 healthcare: piggyback continuously.
level 2 healthcare: piggyback every 10mins
level 3 healthcare: report every 10mins (dont need to piggyback anymore! :))
level 4 healthcare: report once & dont need to report anymore.
this was jenni and my group's report card.
hers is B1 and mine was A1.
so similar right! both have 2 demerit circle stickers somemore. OOPS.

after all those games, talks and stuff right,
we obviously had no dinner, but got night activity,
its like everyone had to take this "candle" (forgot what it is called)
and light it. and place it on the courtyard and form a huge heart.
there were about 200++ participants there?
all trying to place a hope somewhere.
it first started out quite small
and it grew bigger...
yupps so after that activity, some newsreporter came

after that it was like shower time.
but most guys felt that it was unnecessary to bathe.

all the girls went to shower and smell nice.
fortunately, we girls din sleep in the same room as them.

HAD MORNING EXERCISE!
its damn hilarious! like what basket toss bla blah.
though we were quite reluctant at first, the aerobics instructor v good,
like make us enthu, then afterthat the whole hall was doing it
ok at this point in time, we haven eaten anything yet. since day 1, 2pm
& still! we have to go round collecting newspaper at tampines!
but we finish like super fast. 5 blocks in about 2 hours?
and they give us like 4-5 hours?
so we went to tampines mall.
walau! like super major craving can.
no eating doesnt mean no drinking right.
in the end ive to resort to "NO PEARL PLEASE" =.=
heres how we spent our time in tampines mall.
at the outdoor playground.
then theres this place near the playground, fully airconditioned,
and CARTOON NETWORK.
then mirza and farhan got excited about Ben 10.
i was like WHAT BEN 10?!
and i realise it wasnt really my era. my era was like
pokemon, beyblade, powerpuff girls.
and i simply adore teen titans and bat man/ bat man of the future
Xiu Ying and I had a whirl of a time.
like kristy spun it and it kinda keep going round and round in this slanting direction,
so u feel as if u are falling down a vortex!

but i was laughing like crazy (hey it rhymes!)

to end the 30 hours of famine (i dunno why i alaways call it 30 days)
we had last year's live the dream champions playing for us
mel and i agree it wasnt good, cos the instruments were louder than the vocals
so it was not as good as we expected it to be
but we agree tht he has stage presence la.
but seriously. i dont watch live the dream. i dont think anyone did. HAH
